About the Race Directors

The Speers founded the Soaring Wings Half Marathon in Conway, Arkansas, in 2008 and directed the event until moving to Hot Springs in late 2012. The Speers were named the 2012 Arkansas RRCA Race Directors of the Year. Both are avid trail runners and have buckled at events such as Kettle Moraine 100, Tahoe Rim Trail 100, Rocky Raccoon 100, Cajun Coyote 100, Thunder Rock 100, and the Charleston 100.
The race directors, along with a race board packed with years of running expertise, donate their time to producing the Run LOViT events. Run LOViT Endurance Events is a 501(c)3 organization through the Road Runners Club of America group exemption status with the IRS. None of the directors or board members profit from these events. Proceeds are given back to the trail community.
